Achieving a whiter looking smile isn’t as hard as it looks. We have the tools that can transform the look of your smile, brightening and whitening it with a rigorous and safe treatment that is gentle on your teeth whilst offering phenomenal results. A 40-minute consultation followed by two weeks of at-home gel application can provide you with more than 6 months of results, especially when you take care to follow our gentle guidelines for aftercare.
Before we can embark on this exciting journey, however, it is important that you come in for a consultation so that we can look at your teeth to determine the amount and kind of staining that you are presenting with.
Staining
Some staining is more removable than others and unfortunately, there is some yellowing of your teeth that any amount of bleaching will not be able to remove. By being realistic with you and looking at your teeth before letting you choose our tooth whitening Burnham treatments, we can make sure that we can guarantee results.
Food and drink staining are perhaps the most common and thankfully is something that we can accurately treat. There are other kinds of staining that can be the result of certain medications or past dental treatments and these are more difficult, if not impossible to remove, so this needs to be considered.
If you do have these kinds of staining, we can offer other options, such as veneers, so that you can enjoy the smile that you are wanting to achieve.
How does teeth whitening work?
Our tooth whitening Burnham treatment involves a gel application that will take two weeks and is carried out at home. We will guide you through this process so that you can feel confident about it and if you have any questions, we are more than happy to talk you through what you need to do.
At the end of these two weeks, you will come into our practice for a thorough and deep clean as well as a 40-minute application of a more concentrated solution. The results speak for themselves and we can almost guarantee that you will have a B1 shade after treatment.
What stains my teeth and how can I avoid this?
Any food or drink that will stain a white t-shirt is considered a substance that will stain your teeth over time. Some are more staining than others, such as curry, red wine and coffee, whilst others will take longer to have an effect.
You can avoid staining your teeth by firstly avoiding such foods, but if this is not an option for you, then simply rinsing your mouth out with water frequently will help in removing any residue that could stain.
After a tooth whitening Burnham treatment, you should avoid any staining food and drink for about 48 hours for best results. Your teeth at this time are sensitive to change and we would like to ensure that the end result is as best as it can be.
In addition to this, by using whitening toothpaste and following a good oral hygiene routine, you can keep your smile looking its best for as long as possible.
